Dioxin testing with the fastest turnaround time in North America.
Torrent Laboratory offers the fastest TAT for dioxin testing in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Dioxins and dioxin-like substances are an extremely toxic family of chemicals. Because they’re difficult to remediate and can persist in the environment for a substantial length of time, assessment and clean-up of these persistent pollutants are crucial. Torrent Laboratory gives you the data you can trust—fast.
Dioxins and Furans are considered persistent pollutants. 2,3,7,8 TCDD is one of the most toxic substances on the planet. Dioxins and furans are not easy to remediate and can persist in the environment for a substantial length of time. As a result, there is a heightened focus on these substances for environmental site assessment and clean up. Dioxans and furans are also increasingly being included in the evaluation for real estate development and purchases.
Marine sediments and seafood products exposed to dioxin and furan streams can contain very high concentrations of PCDD/PCDF. Consequently, we’re seeing a significant increase in required monitoring of marine environments and seafood.

Advanced soil vapor testing.
At Torrent, we offer two types of soil vapor testing: regular and low-level reporting.
The regular TO-15 test method, which has reporting limits of around 0.5 ppbv, is sufficient for most soil vapor monitoring. For residential or commercial environmental screening levels (ESLs), we also offer low-level reporting. Using the TO-15 SIM technique, this sensitive methodology can report the data at the 0.005 ppbv level, making it ideal for the most precise applications.
Air Quality Testing and Analysis.
Air analysis is rapidly evolving, spurred on by increasing environmental awareness and accountability for meeting air quality standards. Torrent Laboratory has made a significant commitment to air testing and analysis by investing in new methods, technologies and advanced procedures. We offer outdoor air quality testing and ambient air testing.
Torrent supplies data for a range of air methods including NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM, and EPA Air Compendium Methods (TO, CO, IO).
Low level testing of PAHs in soil and water.
We offer 8270 and 8270 SIM testing for PAH (Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons) in soil and water. The 8270 test method has reporting limits that are generally around 0.5 ppbv, which in most cases is sufficient for soil and water monitoring.
Pesticide testing.
Pesticides don’t just harm pests. They’re known to have a range of adverse health effects in humans. Torrent offers testing for organochlorine and organophosphorus(true?) pesticides and herbicides.
Metal detection in soil and water.
Torrent offers testing to detect metals using ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry). This method is effective when you need to detect low levels of trace metals in groundwater or drinking water, and when you need to confirm the presence of certain metals in a water or soil matrix.
